To start with Im a Yorkshireman in Sussex but don't hold that against me :). And as you may guess from that statement others consider that I have a great sense of humour, that is a characteristic which comes into play hugely when doing social and lifestyle photography. I consider the relationship between myself and my sitter crucial, what I am really photographing is a persons reaction to my interaction with them. Knowing how to coax the desired emotion from a sitter is probably the key skill.
I've had a camera in my hand since I was 12 and was spurred on by winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd at a local fetes photo competition. Learning the basics from photographic magazines it wasn't until 20 years ago that I started to formalise my knowledge with a HND in Photography & Digital Imaging and years later studied at Brighton University to gain a Ba(Hons ) degree in Photography.
